The Invitation – Lets share some sweetness!
21st May, 6:30pm, Under your Feet
Drawing upon the concepts of “Think Global, Act Local” – or is it “Think Local, Act Global” – and the knowledge that it “Has to be fun to be sustainable” – Lets all get together and share some sweetness, have a Pudding Party – and raise some funds to support our brothers and sisters attending the International Permaculture Convergence in Jordan, September 2011. http://www.ipcon.org/
Why a Pudding Party? Most of us like pudding. We like the “sweetness”. Sweetness in life doesn’t just need to mean chocolate and sugar. It can be the sweetness of a child laughing. Or a healthy community crying, dancing and laughing together… Or bees returning to an area devastated by fire. The International Permaculture Convergence is not funded by government bodies. It is groups of individuals coming together with a dream or vision of what we could create together. Financially, it is hard to get there. For our brothers and sisters coming from areas of low income, it is even harder. So why not give them a little hand – and share the sweetness?
By having a Pudding party – we get to enjoy our Pudding, and we get to create the opportunity to extend our hands out and share a little bit of that sweetness. Not just for now, but into long term futures. And we get to have a little bit of fun too!
Why? Well, the Permaculture Convergence is about skill sharing and resource sharing. It is about empowering individuals – across the board – with skills and knowledge that will support and empower communities to become more resilient, more sustainable, and hopefully more beautiful – into long term futures. Not just our human communities, but also the communities made up of our birds, bees, fish, biosphere – basically our planet. Permaculture is a concept that focusses around how we design towards these long term futures. And the convergence is about gathering people together from many nations, many cultures, many backgrounds and experiences to skill share, share ideas, plans, visions, concepts, try find common ground – and then for those individuals to take their learning back into their own communities to grow these…
Act Local, think Global. Think Local, Act Global.
Having fun to be sustainable.
